Transforaminal Epidural Steroid Injections
WHAT ARE TRANSFORAMINAL EPIDURAL STEROID INJECTIONS?
Transforaminal epidural steroid injections, sometimes referred to as a selective nerve root block, is a specific kind of x-ray guided injection to target “pinched nerves” in the low back and to deliver anti-inflammatory steroid injection to the problem area.
Pinched nerves can cause back pain and what are known as radicular symptoms which can include feelings of numbness, tingling, or shooting pain that travels down the leg. Your physical exam and imaging studies will help us to determine which nerve is involved.
